For over 50 years Texas Baptists had a formal
partnership with Minnesota/Wisconsin Baptist Convention that included church
planting and leadership development. This two-state convention has mainly small
churches served by bi-vocational pastors. Distance is great between churches
which makes opportunities for fellowship, learning, and worship together a
challenge. Pray that someone will encourage these pastors today.
A key ministry for those who serve in MWBC is
the annual Pastors/Wives Retreat held at Green Lake Convention Center, Green
Lake, WI. Dr. Leo Endel, MWBC executive director, said, “This is the best
attended convention event of each year. So many of our folks look forward to
this time of refreshment in the dark days of February. It has the effect of
holding our churches and leaders together in a region where distances isolate
most of our churches and church plants.”
Pray for the pastor’s wife as she works alongside
their husband while balancing family and career. Pray she will be encouraged
today through a song, spoken word, touch, or activity.
Endel expresses overflowing gratitude for the
investment Texas Baptists continue to make in pastors and church planters who
serve in a very challenging part of the United States. Pray for Dr. Leo Endel
and the convention staff as they seek opportunities for Minnesota and
Wisconsin.
